Telford based oil mist filters manufacturer Filtermist has appointed DRIFTEC Lda as a dedicated distributor in Portugal to ensure it is able to offer local support to Portuguese customers.
Portugals manufacturing industry, particularly its aerospace, automotive and metalworking sectors, offer significant potential for Filtermist. The appointment of a dedicated distributor means efforts can be focused on the local market and customers will be able to access technical and aftersales support throughout Portugal.
DRIFTEC specialises in industrial process optimization and represents a select number of recognised brands from Germany, Austria, Italy, Denmark and Sweden. Filtermist identified DRIFTEC as a potential distributor by working closely with the Department for International Trade (DIT), both in the UK and Portugal, as International Distributor Manager Alison Green explains:
Following a meeting with Richard Smith, our local DIT representative, we began a conversation with his counterpart at the DIT in Portugal. We then worked closely together to identify potential distributors which would fit well with Filtermist.
DRIFTEC stood out due to its professional approach and the fact that it prides itself on carrying an exclusive product portfolio.
Filtermist works with a network of more than 50 global distributors in 60 countries worldwide and has worked with the DIT on numerous occasions to identify the right caliber partners.

Richards input is always invaluable, and the support we received from Zélia Henriques and Carlos Fernandes from DIT Portugal was extremely helpful. Their local knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile were key factors in us securing the appointment of DRIFTEC.

The OEM presence means there is also a substantial supply chain in Portugal all of which offers opportunities for Filtermist.
